  5.          11.1  HOW TO ACCESS THE SCHEDULER
  6.  
  7.              The scheduler is accessed from the sysop menu.  <1> will list
  8.              the schedule events; <2> will create an event; and <3> will
  9.              Remove, Disable, or Enable.

  11.          11.2  SCHEDULES EXPLAINED
  12.  
  13.              Schedule "A"
  14.              ------------
  15.              Schedule A will invoke the Phoenix Net-Mail option.  This schedule
  16.              should be set to run in the national net-mail time slot of 1am
  17.              Pacific time, 4am Eastern time.  The window length should be 60
  18.              minutes and should be set to run every day.
  19.              There is also a secodary NET event run from 21:00 to 21:30
  20.              Eastern time on Mondays and Thursdays. Note that these net times
  21.              DO follow the changes to Daylight Savings Time in the summer.
  22.              Don't forget to reset your computer clocks!

  24.              Schedules "R - X"
  25.              ------------
  26.              These schedules allows you to automatically Drop to DOS.
  27.              Phoenix will set the ERRORLEVEL.
  28.              The P.BAT file included with Phoenix includes instructions.
  29.              You may call the program name directly and when it is done,
  30.              the P.BAT file will automatically bring Phoenix back up.
  31.              This provides the ability to do automated backup (if your
  32.              tape software allows it), run utilities, or call a different
  33.              configuration of Phoenix in a different directory. Some sysops
  34.              allow public access most of the day, and restrict access only
  35.              to current users at a certain time. Whatever program you call,
  36.              be sure it runs at least ONE MINUTE. If not, be sure  that your
  37.              next statement under the program you just ran calls a timer-type
  38.              program to delay one minute before giving control back to P.BAT.
  39.              If the time has not changed to the next minute, Phoenix will
  40.              return and think that it must run the schedule again. One such
  41.              excellent timer program is TIME(R).COM by Ryan Katri. It is
  42.              available on most boards but if not, call 1-707-725-9612 up
  43.              to 2400 baud and you can obtain the latest version directly
  44.              from the author.
  45.              Note, that when executing schedules R - X, unless you must
  46.              do something special, specify a window of 1 minute. This way,
  47.              as soon as the your program is done, Phoenix will return without
  48.              waiting out the required time.
  49.              If you must call a batch file, be SURE to call P.BAT at the
  50.              end of the batch file. This is because batch files do not
  51.              return to the calling file at the end of execution. If you
  52.              have PC or MS DOS 3.3, you may use the new command "CALL"
  53.              to call your batch file. When it is done, it will return
  54.              control to P.BAT.

  57.              Schedule "Z"
  58.              ------------
  59.              This schedule will automatically pack your message base for you.
  60.              This is just like compacting them from the Sysop Menu.
